📝 How should I apply tattoo aftercare ointment? Is there anything else I should use besides ointment?
I recommend Vaseline or Bepanthen (Dexpanthenol).
- If you wish to use products other than Vaseline or Bepanthen, please contact me with a photo so I can confirm whether they are safe to use.
- If you plan to use body creams, lotions, or moisturizers you already own, please avoid products containing parabens or silicone.
- If you are unsure, I would appreciate it if you could send me a photo of the product.
It is recommended to apply it every 5–6 hours, and please apply it as thinly as possible.
- Applying it too thickly may block airflow and increase the risk of inflammation.
- If your skin feels very dry, I recommend applying it every 4–5 hours or slightly more frequently.
Before applying Vaseline or Bepanthen, please clean the area using wet wipes, running cold water, or lukewarm water.
- If you keep applying ointment over previously applied layers, dust or impurities may build up and cause inflammation.
- After cleaning, gently pat the area dry with tissue or a clean towel.
After the tattoo is fully healed, if the area is frequently exposed to sunlight (especially in summer), please apply sunscreen.
- Prolonged exposure to UV rays may cause fading or blurring of lines.
- Especially right after the tattoo, the skin is very sensitive, so please avoid direct sunlight as much as possible.
- Once healed, applying sunscreen helps maintain the color and prevent aging.
📝📝 Sticker on tattoo — we call this “Second Skin Film”!
The film applied is a tattoo aftercare product called “Second Skin Film.”
- It is different from products like “Medifoam” sold at pharmacies.
Do not apply any other products except the film we applied or provided. - Before reapplying the provided film, make sure to remove moisture completely and apply it on dry skin.
(Except in summer) Please remove the applied film within 12–24 hours.
- The recommended maximum time is 24 hours.
- For an easy removal method, tap the text to be automatically redirected to a video.
If you sweat heavily after application (especially in summer), even if 12 hours have not passed,
please remove it as soon as you get home.
- Due to the nature of the film, plasma, sweat, and impurities can accumulate inside, which may cause inflammation.
- If possible, remove it as soon as you can.
🚨 Precautions for using Second Skin Film 🚨
While the film is attached, do not let hot water directly touch the area.
- If the adhesive is exposed to hot water, it may stick to the skin and cause irritation or inflammation.
If your skin is sensitive or dry, the area where the film was attached may appear yellow after removal.
- In this case, it may take at least 1 week up to 5–6 months for the skin to return to its original color.
- If you have sensitive or dry skin, it is recommended to remove the film immediately after returning home.
In some cases, an allergic reaction may occur. If you experience the following symptoms, remove the film immediately.
- If the entire skin where the film is attached (not just the tattoo area) becomes red
- If you feel pain in the area where the film is attached
If the film is worn longer than the recommended time, the skin may turn yellow.
- It may take at least 1 week up to 5–6 months to return to normal, so please make sure to remove it within the recommended time.
🚨🚨 What should you absolutely avoid?
Please avoid wearing light-colored clothing for 1–3 days after removing the film.
- Clothing may become stained due to ink or lymph fluid that hasn’t fully settled, and ink does not come off once it touches fabric.
Please avoid activities that cause heavy sweating or hot environments.
- Since the skin has been wounded and ink injected, increased body temperature may cause inflammation.
- In winter, please be careful not to keep the tattooed area in constant contact with heated floors.
Please refrain from drinking alcohol until the tattoo has healed.
- A tattoo is a wound on the skin, and alcohol significantly increases the risk of inflammation.
- Please strictly avoid alcohol during the healing period.
Please avoid saunas, the sea, swimming pools, and public baths.
- If peeling has not finished, it means the skin has not fully healed yet.
These places are shared environments with many people, where unknown contaminants may be present.
In such environments, bacteria can easily enter the unhealed tattoo and cause inflammation.
Therefore, please avoid these places until peeling is completely finished.
Brief contact with hot water or soap foam is generally fine. However, prolonged exposure may increase irritation and risk of inflammation.
- If there is a chance hot water or soap foam may stay on the tattoo for a while, apply a thick layer of Vaseline before showering.
- After showering, gently rinse with cold or lukewarm water, remove the Vaseline, and reapply ointment in a thin layer.
After about 3–7 days, peeling will occur. This is a natural process.
- It may itch, but scratching or picking may remove unsettled ink or create new wounds.
- If it is very itchy, apply a cold pack for 10–20 minutes instead of scratching.
❓❓ Is a retouch necessary?
Retouching is optional, not mandatory.
- Since it involves reinserting ink into previously worked skin, pain may feel stronger than the first session.
- In the case of light colors, or if retouching is done unnecessarily, the color may become distorted.
- If you’re unsure whether a retouch is needed, please contact me with clear photos taken from the front.
All my works include one free retouch.
- It is recommended to receive it 1 to 2 months after the session.
- The first retouch is free; additional sessions may incur a small fee.
- If ink loss occurred due to not following the “things to avoid,” retouch will not be provided.
Retouch appointments follow the same scheduling system as regular bookings.
- If needed, please let me know your preferred schedule like a regular booking.
- Since many people fail to show up, a no-show deposit is required (returned after the session).
